THE FAILED VIOLINIST, painted. by me.
THE FAILED VIOLINIST is a metaphor for my sad lack of musical development. when i was a child of four years, i begged my mum to send me for piano classes – and she enrolled me in organ lessons. i had a stunted left pinky finger from a childhood accident (which involved a TV and a cabinet) and my hands were really small and i could only stretch them so wide so sometimes i would hit 2 keys at once and the teacher was really mean and whacked my knuckles with a wooden ruler. i remembered crying every time i ended the lesson and i stopped going after the fourth session. if the teacher was more of a human being, who knew, i could very well have been a worldwide recognized musician by now!
