is the angry hedonist: former designer who gave it all up to become a poor and starving but happy artist instead. She illustrates awkward women in uneasy dilemmas with that loving touch of macabre. She enjoys telling the world her life’s little stories in her illustrations...

HEIRS OF THE CLOWN by nataliette. digital painting, 2010.
the clown couldn’t make enough money,
so he sold his daughters to the circus.
p/s. experimenting with a loose style (influenced by veemee) (especially her super speedpaint vids)… and you know what. this is heckuva lot more fun! does anyone miss the clean linework of my previous pieces? not me. also, im so original. heh.
pp/s. you can shop this print now, too!

the acidtripped version of MY POOR SISTER part 2.. (see larger)
not very original i know. but its fun experimenting with textures and masks and now its got golden butterflies and psychedelic hair. weeeee!
i am growing tired of my clean lineart (henceforth labeling them “the PORCELAIN INNOCENTS series”)
so now expect more traditional, dirty, nitty gritty pencil drawings of stuckup older-looking haggardly scrawny bitches in a new series of mine called “the PRUDE BITCHES series”… a la my previous post and also available for your viewing pleasure here:

The Wary and The Thief pencil on paper
the nice one is warning her naughty twin not to steal.
.

A Very Brief Stranger's Glance pencil on paper
everyone likes to look at a gorgeous lady
but what happens when the beautiful observed
suddenly
turns
around
and catches your eye?
…any thoughts and warnings and screams of protest/encouragement? i like these newer faces for their uppityness than the melancholic stares of the previous series’s… no idea if i will continue them longterm but for now theyre mighty fun to draw! somehow i can live with getting carbon under my nails.

"There's Always A Surlier Sibling"
pencils and pastels on a paperblanks pad.

"All The Duke's Daughters"

there’s the unconventional one,
the scowling one,
the prudent one,
and the tamest but plainest one.

my monkey face and dirty fingers and "There's Always A Surlier Sibling" drawing. and my stubby pinky.
uh, dont be fooled – the drawing pad is pretty small actually – about the size of my palm and fingers if you were to draw a square around them. also, my stubby left pinky (the result of a childhood accident) makes her debut! :D dont worry it doesnt look too abnormal considering my other normal pinky is also astonishingly small/short – and i’ve had friends not notice my ‘disability’ for years.
i am totally looking forward to today: removing the stitches in my gums (i had all 4 of my wisdom teeth plucked out last monday), meeting a very dear old friend for chitchat and coffee, and MOST IMPORTANTLY I CAN EAT NOW. YAYAYAYAY BRING IT ONNN. i miss the bacons THE MOST.
i take a moment here to say RIP michael jackson.
…
also, i might have a flappy gum due to premature falling out of a stitch. flapflapflap. dave says doesnt wana kiss me now cos i taunted him by saying i have TWO TONGUES NOW. hahahahahhah… oh BLEAH. does anyone know what will happen to it? will it fall out? will the dentist cut it off? (OUCH) will i permanently have a mini tongue? thats pretty cool actually.

the widow's daughter.
pencils, pastels, crayons on Painter.
trying out a new, fiercer, messier and less childlike style… on a dreary sunday noon.
unbelievably, this piece took me 4 hours of experimentation to come to this result.
what massive fun.
and now its naptime to make me forget this headache :(

AUSTERITY, painted. by me (view original drawing here)
AUSTERITY is about wants and shouldn’ts. Austerity is the story of a girl who loves shopping, but here she is chained up to a chair to stop herself from going out to spend more money on useless materialistic pleasures. (clearly reflective of myself! i need some cuffs too…)

VESTURE, painted. by me. original illustration here.
well i insisted on painting something today and i learnt that no good can come out of stubborn work done with an exhausted mind. its just bleh but i have a feeling i might never work on this again. (maybe.) (actually maybe not.) the only thing i like about this is the lips. the rest is just…redundant!
its just one of those days.
oh well.
i cant wait for the weekend to arrive!

THE FAILED VIOLINIST, painted. by me.
THE FAILED VIOLINIST is a metaphor for my sad lack of musical development. when i was a child of four years, i begged my mum to send me for piano classes – and she enrolled me in organ lessons. i had a stunted left pinky finger from a childhood accident (which involved a TV and a cabinet) and my hands were really small and i could only stretch them so wide so sometimes i would hit 2 keys at once and the teacher was really mean and whacked my knuckles with a wooden ruler. i remembered crying every time i ended the lesson and i stopped going after the fourth session. if the teacher was more of a human being, who knew, i could very well have been a worldwide recognized musician by now!
hello hello apart from chewing on faux accusations, lots of natural self doubt and then disdainment at the cowardice of obscurity, and finally assuring myself that i love what i am doing… i’ve been doing more painting! (albeit under a slight drunken stupor and very heavy eyelids…)

digital painting of THE FAILED VIOLINIST, a work in progress animation.
view the original drawing here and the current status piece here!
everyone seems to like work-in-progress shots so i did a short animation. :D
time to crawl under the beckoning covers… and comments are always welcome :D

"IT WAS LIKE THIS"...a work-in-progress (view original drawing here!)
yay boobies! im really happy that they look… 3d enough. although the nipple on the right is skewed EEKS. her face is still flat at this point and i really dunno what to do with it since all my drawings feature noseless women… i like her collarbone though! mm collarbones are sexy ;D CRITIQUE IS REALLY APPRECIATED THANK YOU.♥ since i pretty much sucketh at painting…
uh i really want to paint some more but my nose is running nonstop and its 2am T_T im going to sleep now. goodnight!
