Well I was working on this,
I remembered this ghost story.
From long ago.
Here is my shorter version.
Three friends went into this deserted toilet.
Let’s call them Alice, Brenda and Chanelle.
There were three cubicles in the toilet.
Alice went into the left one,
Brenda into the right one.
Chanelle went into the middle one.
Alice and Brenda came out.
The middle cubicle’s door was open,
nobody was inside.
“Chanelle’s fast,” said Alice
as they washed their hands.
And fixed their hair a bit.
Then they went outside
to meet their friend.
They never did find Chanelle.
A few years later.
Two different girls
who were friends
came upon the same deserted toilet.
They were Druscilla and Elle.
The middle cubicle was locked.
Druscilla and Elle were about to go
into the first and second cubicles when
the middle door creaked open.
As the girls watched in horror
as the door opened by itself.
On the toilet seat sat the girl
Chanelle
from a few years back.
Chanelle looked up at them.
Her face was battered
her expression full of sorrow.
“Why…
didn’t you wait for me.”
