hi friends and strangers! my next show will be a small cosy affair celebrating famed author CHARLES BUKOWSKI, a “laureate of American lowlife” (quoted by Time magazine, 1986).

super honored to be part of this alongside local street artist SpeakCryptic!
i’ll be showing a couple of new drawings and some old works custom made for Bukowski in the lo-fi space…
for those unfamiliar with Bukowski, here’s an archive of his works. amazing stuff, i think if you like my art, you would love him!
it’s on TODAY, 28th of September, 8.30pm at 15 Minutes Cafe over at LaSalle College of the Arts. (facebook event page)
i’ll be there for a little while, so if you got a bit of time, come on down to revel in the Bukowski and say hi!
click here to read some of my favourite bukowski…

post-airtime, this is me with the sweet pamela (one of the dj's)♥
a recording of my raw, unedited, LIVE interview at local national radio station 93.8FM with the DJs pamela & stanley (you guys are awesome and super cool for calming my fraught nerves!). listen to the 12-minute clip if you want to hear my nasal voice hemming and hawing about my art and my solo show. gosh, its too weird to hear myself.
thanks SCYA for arranging this and billy for being there to support me and for this great recording! you the man!
Singapore Contemporary Young Artists (SCYA) and HOUSE collaborate to debut a young local illustrator’s first solo exhibition. Based on the theme of ‘Food Obsession’, the visual study on food behaviour features a series of limited digitally printed canvas artworks displayed and available for sale at HOUSE, 8D Dempsey Road from 11th of September to 10th October 2009.
Her first exhibition illustrates the icons, symbols and representations of food as they interact with and manifest in the human body. Sub-topics such as vegetarianism, genetic modification, food and morality emerge in her artworks, resulting in images that are a tad whimsical, provocative and not to everyone’s tastebuds. But definitely, food for thought.
Chew on it. It’s another inspirational art exhibition held in the creative space of HOUSE.
Prices range from $150 to $550.
and i must also never forget to give my thanks to all these wonderful people for spreading the love about the show, coming up in 2 days!
apparently the guestlist is full already! so do come early, first 100 rsvp’d guests will receive a Whisky Sour with compliments from House!
